Grilled Spiced Tomatoes

4 ripe red tomatoes
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
5 cloves of garlic
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 cup salt
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder
slice the tomatoes in half, evenly shred the parmesan cheese
combine the salt, pepper and garlic powder
mince the garlic
Rub the cut side of the tomatoes with the salt/pepper/garlic powder mixture. Set aside.
Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium height. Place the minced garlic in the oil and cook until the garlic starts to brown. Put the garlic and oil mixture in a bowl and set aside.
Heat the grill to about 350 degrees Farenheit. Cook the tomatoes cut side down for about 4 minutes, and then turn over. When you turn the tomatoes over, spread the garlic and oil mixture on top of the tomato. Cook for another 4 minutes, and top with the shredded parmesan cheese immediately after taking the tomatoes off of the grill.
